Located a few kilometers south of Phuket Town, on the way to Chalong Bay, The Phuket Zoo, set in 25 acres of verdant gardens, will be loved by children and adults alike. The large collection of animals and reptiles includes tigers, ostriches, emus and camels, 5,000 crocodiles, 60 species of bird and more than 100 species of butterflies. Crocodile wrestling performances and elephant and monkey shows occur throughout the day, and elephant rides are bound to amuse the kids. Phuket Aquarium and Marine Center

Phuket Aquarium and Marine Center, at the extreme end of Sakdidet Road, features wonderful displays of both saltwater and freshwater fish. It is here that local experts also hatch and breed young sea turtles for release into the sea. This is an important part of the work of the aquarium since the turtles are an endangered species. This is also Thailand's major marine biological research station, undertaking work on tropical reef ecosystems, commercial fisheries, and other related projects. Lone Island
Lone Island, situated in the middle of Chalong Bay, remains a quiet, lush place with not so many high end resorts on the Island
There are few daytrips going here, but it's easy to organize a long-tail boat for the 20-minute boatride from Chalong Bay in Phuket. The island only has a few inhabitants from a small Muslim fisherman's village on its northwestern side.
Mai Thon Island
A small but exquisite island about an hour by boat east of Phuket Island, Mai Thon's beautiful natural green surroundings, exotic corals and white sandy beaches are well preserved. The island has only one rather expensive resort: Honeymoon Private Island Resort or also called Maithon Island Resort where fishing and scuba-diving instruction and equipment are available.
The Resort is quite expensive so most people make a one day trip starting from Ao Makam Deep-Sea Port.
Koh Hae (Coral Island):
Many tours will bring you to this island or just rent a boat by yourself. You will be joined by sergeant majorfish, coral rock cod, barracuda, moon wrasse, different coloured parrot fish, moorish idols, rabbit fish and giant puffer fish if you take your snorkeling equipment with you.
Taphao Yai Island
Taphao Yai Island is located in the Southeast of Phuket Island. Approximately 10 minutes take a boat from Makham Bay. There are Bucerotes hornbills on the island. Dining and accommodations are available on the island.
